The Granite Belt is an area of the Great Dividing Range in southeast Queensland, Australia centred around the town of Stanthorpe. The cool high country of the granite belt is found to the south of the Darling Downs and north of the New England Tablelands.

By road, it is 2½ hours from Brisbane, 3 hours from the Gold Coast, 9 hours from Sydney and ½ hour north of Tenterfield. The winery is situated in Glen Aplin valley just 10 minutes south of Stanthorpe. GPS coordinates for the front gate are 28″ 43′ 45.29 South 151″ 51′ 07.80 East.

  • Get on M3 from Edward St and Alice St.
  • Take M5 and National Highway 15 to Freestone Rd in Clintonvale.
  • Turn left onto Freestone Rd
  • Follow National Highway 15 to Mount Stirling Rd in Glen Aplin
  • Turn right onto Mount Stirling Rd

A popular trail is the well-marked Stanthorpe to Ballandean Bike Trail, which follows 32km of quiet country roads, starting in Stanthorpe at the picturesque creek and meandering through quaint country back roads towards Ballandean, Queensland’s most famed wine region.

Bring your own bike or let our local Stanthorpe bicycle tours and hire business, Granite Belt Bicycle Tours make everything easy. They offer fully guided bicycle tours, a bicycle hire service (including all the biking accessories), mapped itineraries and they will deliver bikes to your accommodation and pick you up if you’ve had enough for the day.
